A useful conversation can stretch from a morning planning session to an afternoon review. Message timestamps make that gap visible. In this demo, an October release plan receives a follow-up several hours later, helping you place the request in context when you return.
One setting, an immediate change
Open StylerGPT in ChatGPT and choose Advanced. Message timestamps is on by default. Switch it off for a cleaner view, or back on to restore the available dates and times. There is no separate Apply button and no need to rewrite or resend a message.
Compact labels that belong with your messages
Each label sits above the message text and follows its font and color. The date and 24-hour time use your browser’s locale and local time zone, including seconds. StylerGPT reads the timestamp available for each supported message; it does not manufacture dates for messages with no usable timing information.

How do I show timestamps in ChatGPT?
Open StylerGPT inside ChatGPT, choose Advanced and turn on Message timestamps. Dates and times appear on supported messages without a separate Save step. The setting is enabled by default; the demo turns it off and back on to show the difference.
Do timestamps appear on both my messages and ChatGPT replies?
Yes. StylerGPT adds a compact date and time above the text of user messages and assistant replies when ChatGPT exposes a usable message timestamp. Messages without that information do not receive an invented date.
Which date format and time zone do timestamps use?
The extension uses your browser’s locale and local time zone. The label includes the date and a 24-hour time with hours, minutes and seconds. The demo uses fixed English examples so the fictional conversation looks consistent for every visitor.
Can I hide message timestamps again?
Yes. Turn off Message timestamps in Advanced. The labels disappear while your conversation content stays the same. Turn the setting back on to show available timestamps again.
Will timestamps match my chat appearance?
The labels inherit the font and text color of the message they belong to, with a compact 12-pixel size. They work with light and dark appearances without introducing a separate timestamp color setting.
Does this change or track my conversations?
This setting displays timing information already available in the ChatGPT interface. It does not edit your messages or create a separate activity log. It depends on the message data exposed by ChatGPT, so it is not a guaranteed audit trail.
Is this an interactive demo?
The demo runs automatically using a fictional release-planning conversation. Pause and Replay control the sequence; it follows the website’s light or dark mode. Opening a modal from the pinned extension icon is a demonstration convention. The real panel presentation depends on your browser and StylerGPT settings.
