Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how StylerGPT handles data when you visit stylergpt.com, install the StylerGPT browser extension, use StylerGPT features inside ChatGPT, or purchase a license.
StylerGPT is operated by Indigeno Digitale di Fabio Viola (VAT ID: IT12398841002), doing business as StylerGPT.com. Our goal is to keep ChatGPT customization, local workflow tools, prompt guard, and chat export as local as possible in your browser.
StylerGPT does not use your ChatGPT conversation content for advertising, analytics, or model training. Local features such as styling, saved prompts, folders, prompt guard, and chat export are designed to keep conversation content on your device. Some limited identifiers are used for trial verification, license activation, fraud prevention, and payment processing as described below.
Data Collection and Usage
Local device identifier
When you install the browser extension, StylerGPT creates a random device identifier stored locally in your browser. This identifier is used only for:
- Managing trial status, license activation, and device limits
- Preventing abuse and keeping access fair across plans
This device identifier is not used to track your ChatGPT activity or conversation content.
Free trial identifier (hashed ChatGPT email)
When you are signed in to ChatGPT, the extension may read your ChatGPT account email from the page only to verify free trial eligibility. The email is immediately transformed in your browser into a one-way cryptographic hash (HMAC-SHA-256). Only the hash is stored or sent to our servers to check or activate the trial.
We do not store or transmit the raw email address for trial verification. The hash cannot be reversed by us to recover the original email address, and we do not use that email address to contact you.
Chat export (local)
When you use chat export to save ChatGPT conversations as PDF, DOCX, Markdown, TXT, or JSON, the following process occurs:
- The conversation content is processed locally in your browser to generate the selected export file
- The export file is saved directly to your device
- Conversation content is not transmitted to our servers for export generation
We do not store, log, or retain ChatGPT conversation content for chat export because the export is generated locally in your browser.
Chat archive, Smart Search, Image Gallery and Manage folders
With Power access, Chat archive in Advanced retrieves conversation titles and messages from ChatGPT into a local index separated by account and workspace. It supplies Smart Search, Image Gallery and Manage folders, using your existing ChatGPT session and network connection. Searches and result exports run locally; the index is not uploaded to StylerGPT servers. Disabling Smart Search alone does not stop synchronization. Turning Chat archive off stops synchronization but retains downloaded local archives, gallery favorites, ChatGPT conversations and folder assignments. Deleting local archives requires the separate clear command in Chat archive settings and confirmation. Pausing the extension or losing Power access stops updates but retains stored archive data.
Image Gallery stores image metadata, available prompt text and favorites in that local archive. Previews and downloads retrieve images from ChatGPT and its media hosts as needed; the gallery index does not store image files or temporary download URLs. Selected images are packaged into a ZIP locally, without uploading them to StylerGPT servers. Turning Chat archive off retains the local gallery index and favorites. The separate archive clear command deletes them after confirmation.
Prompt guard (local analysis)
When you enable Prompt Guard, it checks outgoing prompt text locally in your browser at the time you try to send it. The check can flag email addresses, phone numbers, payment cards, IBANs, international tax IDs, API secrets, credential assignments, and private keys. A warning pauses the send so you can edit the prompt or explicitly continue.
Prompt Guard does not send prompts or findings to an analysis service, and it does not store or log them. It is disabled by default. Files, images, OCR, voice, connector uploads, and unrelated third-party sends are outside this check, so the detector is not a guarantee that every sensitive value will be identified.
Toolbox data stored locally
Some toolbox features store feature data locally in your browser, such as saved prompts in Prompt Manager, Prompt History, chat folder names and assignments, notes, and pending Prompt Queue messages. This data is used only to provide the local feature and is not transmitted to our servers.
Notes store their title, text, conversation title and source path locally, separated by ChatGPT account and workspace. Notes are not uploaded or synchronized across devices. Deleting a source conversation, disabling Notes, or resetting preferences keeps saved notes; delete them in Notes.
Prompt Queue stores pending text by ChatGPT account and conversation in browser storage, without sending it to StylerGPT servers. Pending messages in regular chats return paused after a reload; temporary chat queues are discarded on reload. Sent or removed messages leave the queue.
Monthly Prompt Enhancer and Chat Export usage counters are also stored locally in your browser installation. They are shared across its tabs to enforce the included allowances, are not synchronized across devices, and are not sent to our servers for advertising or analytics.
What we do not collect
StylerGPT does not collect your ChatGPT conversation content, prompts, prompt guard findings, saved prompts, folder names, exported files, or browsing activity for advertising or analytics.
If we introduce product analytics in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy before collecting that data and will describe what is collected, why it is collected, and whether users can opt out.
Payments and licensing
If you purchase a paid plan or lifetime license, payment and billing information are processed by our payment provider. StylerGPT does not store your full card number. We may receive limited purchase and license information needed to activate, manage, and support your license.
On embedded app pages in ChatGPT, StylerGPT passes the selected palette's color styling to the app through ChatGPT's existing app rendering channels. This styling contains color values, not chat messages or notes, and requires no additional extension permissions.
Permissions and access required by the extension
StylerGPT needs access to ChatGPT pages to apply themes, fonts, layout changes, folders, prompt tools, prompt guard checks, and export controls. Some optional features request extra permissions or site access only when you enable them. You can deny optional permissions and still use the core extension.
- ChatGPT site access (chatgpt.com): Needed to apply themes, fonts, layout changes, chat folders, prompt controls, export buttons, and other StylerGPT features inside the ChatGPT web interface.
- YouTube site access (*.youtube.com): Optional. Needed only for YouTube Summarizer to add a summarizer button on YouTube pages and read available transcript and metadata to prepare a ChatGPT summary prompt.
- GitHub raw content access (raw.githubusercontent.com): Used by PDF export to load open-source Noto fonts when needed so non-Latin characters render correctly in exported PDFs. This request is for font files, not for ChatGPT conversation content. Fonts are loaded from the Noto fonts project: https://github.com/notofonts/noto-fonts.
