Separate colors for prompts and replies
When you revisit a long ChatGPT conversation, distinct message colors help you spot your instructions and the answers that follow. In this demo, a research summary gets green assistant bubbles and purple user bubbles, so the release priorities stand apart from the original request.
Automatic contrast or your own text color
Open Chat layout in StylerGPT and use the Bubble and Text controls for each message role. Choose a color visually or enter an exact Hex or RGB value. Changes preview as you edit; Apply confirms the choice. Automatic contrast chooses light or dark text from the bubble background. The demo uses the color picker for each bubble background and keeps automatic text contrast for both message roles.
A finishing touch for light and dark chats
Add or remove the border for either role independently. StylerGPT derives the border shade from the bubble color and the current mode. This demo follows the website’s light or dark appearance and uses a color combination chosen for each. To clear a custom color, reopen its picker and use Reset; your messages remain intact.

How do I change ChatGPT chat bubble colors?
Open StylerGPT while you are on ChatGPT and choose Chat layout. Under Assistant messages or User messages, select Bubble, choose a color or enter its Hex or RGB value, then click Apply. Each role has its own setting. The demo represents opening StylerGPT as a click on its pinned browser icon; the panel placement in your browser depends on your settings.
Can user and assistant messages have different text colors?
Yes. Each message role has a separate Text control as well as a Bubble control. Leave text on automatic contrast to let StylerGPT choose a light or dark text color for the bubble background, or set a custom text color. This demo keeps automatic text contrast for both user and assistant messages.
Can I turn chat bubble borders on or off?
Yes. Assistant messages and User messages each have a Border switch in Chat layout. The border shade is derived from the bubble color and the active light or dark mode. Assistant borders are enabled by default; user borders are disabled by default. The demo turns on the user border.
How do I reset a bubble or text color?
Open the relevant Bubble or Text color picker and select Reset. Resetting a bubble removes its custom background color. Resetting text restores automatic contrast. These controls reset the selected role and setting; they do not erase your conversation.
What do I need to use Chat Bubbles?
Install StylerGPT in a supported desktop browser and open ChatGPT. Custom bubble colors, text colors and border controls require Power access. They change the appearance of conversations in your browser, not the message content. This page is an automatic demonstration using fictional messages; it does not access your chats.
